Old Labels + New Jars = Vintage Look??

I bought quite a few vintage looking jars from Wal-Mart to use around the house to store all my "stuff." Turns out I have a lot of stuff that needs storing. I took my label machine & made some labels, so the family (and me!) would know what was actually in them. They were kind of boring...and in some cases my husband just laughed at me since he knows what coffee looks like, but I was having fun with my new label machine!

Then I saw all of the cool ink transfers that people were doing online with acetone & I wanted to try it. However, I have not yet found a copy machine that has the right ink. I was getting frustrated & I wanted my new labels done now! :) So after some digging I found some sticker paper for my printer & took this graphic from The Graphics Fairy:

I resized it, printed, cut it out, and stuck it on my Borax jar...I think my Laundry room looks better already!

So of course my coffee jar needed an update...this is a scan of a vintage coffee label:

...and here are more jars (with the Pottery Barn number treatment that everyone is doing) holding a bunch of my sewing supplies. Most of them are vintage (the sewing supplies not the jars) from my grandmother's stash.

I Didn't Buy It!! :O

Can I post something I didn't buy? Saw this cute tin canister...about 6 inches tall...in my favorite thrift store & I loved it. However, it was not old, chipped, and $7, so I left it there, but not without a pic of the cute bee graphic.

Would you have bought it?

Was this for sale recently at TJ Maxx for less?

Yes, this is my first ever blog post! :) Thanks to all who have inspired me to make the big leap from blog reader to poster. I can't wait to show you the fabulous board & batten makeover that my in-laws  helped me with did for me over Spring break!
